Are you one of those people who finds it difficult to drink water just because? If so, then you are one of mine. Many people find it difficult to drink water, unless we are thirsty from having done some physical activity or some work where we have required effort, we drink water. While not
Do you have an idea of how important it is to drink water? I explain.
We know that drinking water is of the utmost importance for our body. But why? The human body is composed almost in its majority, with 60% of water, the brain is composed of 70% of water, the blood of 80% and the lungs are composed of 90% of water. The cells of our body are full of water, because water can dissolve many substances, this property allows our cells to use the nutrients, minerals and chemical elements so valuable for our biological processes. The “sticky” property of water allows these elements to be transported through our bodies. The carbohydrates and proteins that our bodies consume as food, are transported by water within the bloodstream. Also important is the ability of water to transport waste material out of our bodies.
Now, do you realize why it is necessary to drink water? We are practically made of water. But let’s dig a little deeper.
What if we didn’t have enough water?
Well, hydrating is a serious matter and more important than it may seem to us. Drinking a certain adequate amount of water each day is more than relevant, as water functions as a lubricant in the joints and bones, regulates body temperature, and nourishes the brain and spinal cord.
When we do not drink enough or required water, the sensory receptors in the hypothalamus of the brain release a signal from an antidiuretic hormone that reaches the kidneys and causes aquaporins, proteins that regulate the passage of water through the cell membrane and allow the blood retain more water. One of the most obviously visual consequences is that our urine becomes darker, but the negative effects go far beyond this coloration. Not drinking water causes us fatigue, a decrease in cognitive function, alterations in mood, a drop in blood pressure and skin moisture. When our brain does not receive enough water, it contracts (literally) in the absence of water, as it requires extreme effort to function. A human being can endure 15 hours in an extreme environment and 3 days in normal conditions. If dehydration is prolonged, the organism experiences more serious consequences and eventually death.
If we drink a small amount of water over a long period ofM time, we also contribute to digestive problems, diabetes, weight gain, skin problems, high cholesterol, fatigue or constipation. The amount recommended by professionals is around 2.5 to 3 liters in men and 2 to 2.5 liters in women. Interesting, right? But at the same time worrying. Reading something like that, you realize that all this time you have been doing it the wrong way.
Did you know that there are different types of water?
Oh yes, there are. We have drinking water, which can be consumed by people and animals. fresh water, this has a low concentration of salts, it is considered adequate to produce drinking water. salt water, its salt concentration is relatively high. (more than 10 000 mg / l) Hard water contains a large number of positive ions, determined by the number of calcium and magnesium atoms present. Soft water.Ater without significant hardness. Sewage, this is the supply water of a community after it has been contaminated by various uses. Gray water, this water is composed of washing water from the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. But the ones that are heard the most in large or even small cities are
-distilled
-waterdeionized water
Why are they so popular? These are said to have more benefits than regular drinking water.
Although these two are generally believed to be the same, they are not. Distilled water is a simple method of water purification. The water is first boiled until it turns into steam, then the steam is transferred to a new clean container where it condenses to return to liquid water. The process removes most of the impurities, so is an effective method for treating water Deionized water is one to which they have been extracted cations such as sodium, calcium, iron, copper and others, and anions such as carbonate, fluoride, chloride and others, through an ionic process. Which means that all the ions have been removed from the water, except for the hydrogen ion (H +) or, H3O + and the OH.
Which is better?
The difference that these two types of water have is that distilled water is free of bacteria due to its boiling, but it contains other types of minerals that deionized water does not contain. Deionized water is very pure, it must be handled in a plastic container because its purity alters the metal. Deionized water does not go through the boiling process, so it may contain bacteria or some type of microbe.
What Does benefits drinking water give us?
If you do not consume water regularly and start to do so, you will notice certain changes. For example:
It will relieve the fatigue that you may feel during the day, eliminate toxins and products that your body does not need. When there is less water in the body, the heart has to work harder to pump oxygenated blood to all cells and other major organs, which can lead to fatigue.
Goodbye migraines! If you suffer from migraines or constant headaches, your solution is a few glasses of water! In most cases, the main reason for headaches and migraines is dehydration.
Slow traffic? By drinking enough water, we increase the rate of metabolism, that is, the food we eat is broken down properly.
Beauty on the skin. Water helps to replenish the skin tissues, as well as hydrate it and increases its elasticity. When the body receives enough water, the skin will be hydrated. It also helps with scars, acne, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.
Maintains temperature. The thermal properties of water and its ability to release heat from the body when sweat evaporates from the surface of the skin are helpful in maintaining body temperature throughout the day.
Cancer. Studies indicate that drinking water also reduces the risk of bladder and colon cancer. Water destroys cancer-causing agents, reducing the risk of different types of cancer.
Immune system. When we receive the right amount of water, our immune system improves. Thus, you can fight diseases such as the flu, kidney stones, and heart attack.
No more bad breath! It will no longer be necessary to brush your teeth !! Haha just kidding. But saliva helps your mouth rid itself of bacteria and keep your tongue hydrated. Therefore, every time we have bad breath, the first thing we should do is drink a lot of water!
Overweight? I do not think so!. Water helps remove by-products of fat. When we drink water, the stomach fills up making us lose our appetite a bit. Water contains no calories, fat, carbohydrates, or sugar, so if water can do all of this for us, why not drink it?
Other reasons to drink more water
The skin is the largest organ we have, and it is exposed to external aggressions such as cold, heat, sunlight or pollution. In addition to factors such as stress, tobacco, alcohol, etc., they greatly affect our epidermis and cause premature aging. Water helps cleanse the skin, oxygenate and hydrate it, as well as eliminate toxins. The dry and damaged appearance of the skin is due to the accumulation of dead cells in the outer layer. It is of the utmost importance to be hydrated. Water maintains an even skin tone and tends to be less sagging. It also gives you a luminous shine and a look full of vitality. Help improve your skin from the inside out by drinking more water and using products that contain water! and of course, other moisturizers.
The importance of water in cosmetics
Nowadays, there are more and more skin products that contain water as an ingredient and it is that this creates that the products are cleaner and purer. It has a better compatibility with the skin
as it lacks impurities that could cause skin reactions. Optimal stability and uniformity, avoiding slight turbidity, color changes, etc. It works as an entry vehicle for the active ingredients in the skin. It is important that it is purified. I know that now you will think twice when you go to buy a soda. Water is available to everyone, let’s take advantage of it and live a much healthier life.
