Resveratrol

Surely you have heard many times that resveratrol is very good for rejuvenating the skin on your face. But few know what it is or where it comes from. Well, worry no more, that is why I give myself the task of researching and bringing useful and valuable information.

What is resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a phytonutrient found in some plants and fruits. Whose role is to protect it against infection by fungi and bacteria. This phytonutrient is found in natural grape juice, red wine and cocoa. It can be consumed through food or also through food supplements.

Resveratrol Benefits

This phytonutrient provides health benefits. Due to its antioxidant action that protects the body from oxidative stress. It fights inflammation and helps prevent certain types of cancer. Lowers cholesterol, removes toxins from the body, and improves the appearance of the skin. Now let’s talk a little about the properties of resveratrol. Which include, its antioxidant, antiviral, protective, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, phytoestrogenic and anti-aging action.

  • Improves the appearance of the skin.
  • Helps the body to purify and detoxify.
  • Protects the body from cardiovascular diseases.
  • Helps lower cholesterol.
  • Improves healing.
  • Avoid neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Combat inflammation in the body.
  • It prevents diseases such as colon and prostate cancer.

Resveratrol, on the other hand, also helps with weight loss. Since it stimulates the body to burn fat due to the release of a hormone called adiponectin. This is a cytokine that is secreted by adipose tissue. Regulates energy metabolism, reduces plasma triglycerides, stimulates fatty acid oxidation and improves glucose metabolism.

Although resveratrol has many benefits for our body, in exaggerated amounts it can be counterproductive. Too much could cause vomiting, diarrhea and nausea. The dose that is usually recommended in healthy people varies between 30 to 120 mg per day.

Resveratrol on the skin

I know it sounds ugly, but studies in mice have shown that resveratrol protects the skin from the aging process caused by ultraviolet radiation.

Remembering, it is 80% more than chronological aging.

In another study of 50 people taking resveratrol supplements daily, an improvement in skin elasticity and a decrease in wrinkles were found at 60 days. It was also observed in 55 women aged 40 to 60, that the application of resveratrol at night in cream significantly improved wrinkles, firmness, discoloration and hydration of the skin in 12 weeks. Therefore, I did not find negative things in the use of ingested and topically applied resveratrol. Of course, a specialist could tell you how much you need daily based on your age, gender, and health. I hope this information has been very useful to you, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach me.
Greetings and blessings.
